The best fuel for trains, I think is Hydrogen.
Hydrogen based bullet trains technology has not been developed yet but can be developed as it is the best way to run train transportation network.
The innovation of bullet trains is already benefiting human-kind a lot which can be advanced using hydrogen based engines.
Gone are the days when steam or coal was used to run trains. The next generation engineers might bring some other innovative concepts to swiftly run trains on its tracks without any chance of failure or accident.
The concept of flying trains can also be brought into limelight which can benefit the whole human race and can bring lot of innovation in the field of transportation and travel.
The length of the current train system can also be increased considering the principles of kinematics and dynamics of train. Lot of simulations can be undertaken first in order to develop the first prototype and then in the end the complete Train transportation system.
